river shannon

Hi folks a colleague of mine is thinking of paddling the length of the shannon.
Has anyone done this before and what type of kayak would be best (I reckon a plastic sea kayak). If you have done this trip before or know of someone who has please contact me.

Ive gone from Enniskillen to the Sea a few times via the Erne waterways and the Shannon.
