Earth Hour
At 8:30pm this Saturday, March 27, millions of people around the globe will turn their lights off for one hour to mark Earth Hour 2010. Earth Hour, organised by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) aims to raise awareness of the effects of Climate Change and create a sustainable low carbon future for our planet. From an astronomers perspective, Earth Hour highlights the ill effects of light pollution around the world, and is the perfect opportunity to partake in an hour of observing beneath unpolluted skies.

See the article below for our astronomy tips for the weekend, and remember to email observe@astronomy.ie with your Earth Hour 2010 observations which we will try to include it forthcoming issues of \'Astronomy & Space\' magazine.
