Schull Meet 18th-19th May

Post by Pazinho » Mon May 06, 2024 10:15 am

Hot on the heels of the Streamstown meet, and hoping for similar weather,

Schull Meet 18th-19th May

Fastnet Marine & Outdoor Education Centre

  • Camping/Motorhome pitches available
  • Dorms available
  • Paddles to suit all levels
Please register your interest here: https://forms.gle/sCxxRApM9B3gsYx59

As this is a working centre, we'd ask that you not arrive before 5pm on the Friday.

Can't wait for this meet!

If some people were planning to arrive earlier than 17:00 on the Friday, I'll probably be available to lead a peer paddle in the morning/afternoon, arriving back into Schull about 17:00.

If there's no demand for that, an evening paddle is also an option instead.

It's a long way out yet, but it's starting to look like a light northerly airflow for the weekend. 🤞

See below some key tide timings for the weekend; they will have a big influence on our trip planning.

Please comment below if you are interested in a trip on the Friday. Also, if you have anywhere in particular that you want to paddle over the weekend, please comment below, and it will be taken into consideration. Image

Nice work on the tidal info Tash.

Indeed looking promising for the weekend.

I am running L4 Sea Skills training at the meet this weekend and was rather hoping for a bit of swell!😀.

See you all Friday evening.

Hi there

I completed google form and selected dorm option for the weekend. Will I be contacted about whether a dorm has been reservedfor me or do I need to get in touch with the centre to reserve my lodgings?

Thanks

Eoin

Hi Eoin,

If you've filled in the form, there's a place reserved for you.

I'll be around the centre from 5pm.

Polite request folks, do not phone / email Fastnet Marine Outdoor Centre regarding accommodation for this weekend please.
All such requests MUST go through Pa Conway / ISKA to avoid double booking / confusion etc.

Thanks for your co-operation in this.

Jon

Any early arrivers, meet at Colla Pier tomorrow at 14:00 to kick off the weekend of paddling.
Goat Island & Long Island, or similar.
Sea conditions will be great, but maybe a spot of rain.
